Leading the Charge Towards a Clean Energy Future: APS's C2GS Team

Imagine a future powered entirely by clean, carbon-free energy—this is the bold vision driving Arizona Public Service (APS) forward. Committed to achieving 100% clean energy by 2050, APS is setting ambitious goals: 65% clean energy by 2030, with 45% sourced from renewables, and a complete exit from coal-fired generation by 2031.

At the heart of this mission is the Customer to Grid Solutions (C2GS) Team, an award-winning group of innovative leaders led by Kerri Carnes, alongside Sarah Noll, Elizabeth (Izzy) Lawrence, and Erika Larsen. This dynamic team drives customer engagement, behavioral change, and technology adoption to align customer needs with grid reliability.

Key initiatives like the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) are transforming energy demand management, while pilot programs, such as smart thermostat rewards, simplify customer participation and reduce grid strain. Operational excellence, driven by Erika, ensures these programs run seamlessly, while Sarah and Izzy focus on scaling impactful projects and improving customer experiences through data-driven insights.

With mentorship, cross-department collaboration, and a customer-first approach, the C2GS team is shaping a sustainable energy future for Arizona—one innovative step at a time.
