June 27, 2024—Wilson County, TN—The Utility 2030 Collaborative (U2030) is proud to announce its partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville to assist in the reopening of the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville ReStore in Wilson County. Attendees of the U2030 Annual SPARK Meeting (SPARK)., September 16-18, 2024, in Nashville, will volunteer their time to the effort before the event's commencement.
After nearly four years of closure, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Wilson County is excited about reopening and reconnecting with the Wilson County community. Under the leadership of Jennifer Keaton, Director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville ReStore, the new store promises to be bigger and better than ever.
"We'll be going from 3,000 square feet to 30,000 square feet, which will allow us to provide more products and more opportunity for our shoppers," said Keaton. "Everything from home building materials to furnishings, including lighting, appliances, paint, and many other exciting items, will be available in this expanded space."
The ReStore plays a crucial role in supporting Habitat for Humanity's mission of affordable homeownership, with proceeds supporting homes for individuals and families in Middle Tennessee. Over the last three decades, Habitat for Humanity has constructed 94 homes in Wilson County alone.
"Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville ReStore in Wilson County is currently recruiting dedicated staff and volunteers to bolster the reopening and sustained operations of the Wilson Restore. The U2030 volunteers will play a pivotal role in reestablishing our store," says Keaton.
U2030 dedicates itself to engaging with communities beyond traditional utility service delivery. By participating in community service projects, the collaborative aims to deepen its understanding of local needs and foster meaningful connections with the people served by its utility members.
